| At TMS, our goal is to provide our clients the highest quality service. To this end,
our staff of technicians are certified by many industry standards.
We have been providing service to the Central Texas Area since 1981. The company started as a local provider of Terminal service for IBM terminals. Terminal Maintenance Service (TMS). Don Grammer started the company to provide a higher level of service to his customers than what was being provided at that time. The company was able to add services to it's growing list of customers from 1981 to 1984. In 1984 many TMS customers wanted to allow TMS to provide complete coverage to their computer room. This included mainframes, controllers, printers, terminals and tape units. Don Grammer, hired the competition from Sorbus and added many management and technical people to the staff including David Campbell, Michael Chicoine, Bill Dillow, Art Mudge, and many others. This core group grew the TMS service business in Austin and San Antonio until 1989. In 1990 many TMS customers wanted mainframe service on the pc networks. TMS hired Bart Childers to help implement, sell, design and direct the service effort to the network market. All technicians were cross-trained to provide mainframe and network support. At this time there was a great need for experts in the mainframe to network connectivity area. TMS became a leader in supporting and installing 5250 and 3270 Gateways. In the mid 1990's TMS partnered with many software companies and became the hardware expert installation team for many software groups. Our staff would install a pc network anywhere in the country. In 1997 TMS purchased a software partner and moved them into the TMS facility that was located at 15329 Tradesman Drive. SoftEarth was formed to develop new leading edge software with Paul Criswell, Dogan Perese and Bart Childers at the helm. Many software packages were developed and delivered in the area's of Medical Billing, and Funeral Management services. Now all three partners have their own companies providing services to separate clients. TMS provides infrastructure support to many customers in San Antonio and the surrounding area. |
